BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS

My pictures were taken during the protest in London was called Justice For Black Lives and was organised as a sympathy demonstration for the Black Lives Matter protests in the US. Although many news reports tried to depict the protests as violent or as a desperate copy of the American demonstrations, British police brutality and institutionalised racism are evident in the everyday lives of many Brits. According to the charity Inquest, a total of 1,741 people have died in police custody or otherwise in England and Wales since 1990 after contacting the police. My pictures represent those who still have to fight for an equal representation in our society.
